A Gift

Life is a gift. Life is something that this society wants to take away because it's the one

thing they can’t control. People these days tend to live with the idea that any minor mistake they

make can be easily covered up. However, they should not take away the gift that God has blessed

someone else with simply because it is inconvenient for them. People need to know why abortion

is wrong, what it is really doing, and how it can be avoided.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother's

womb” (Psalm 139:13). This Bible verse proves how God finds even the unborn, his children,

important and perfectly made. People think that abortion is an option, and society has us

brainwashed to believe that it is a good thing, when really it's not. People argue that while the

baby is being developed during the pregnancy, they are not a human yet, but instead a fetus. This

is a very inaccurate theory, and God explains how each of us was made perfectly, and He knew

us before our parents even named us. Even before birth, the child starts developing a heartbeat

six weeks after being conceived. Even in the womb, babies are true living people who have been

blessed with the gift of life, and that is something that should not be taken away from them.

If people were to see and understand what abortion truly does, their perspective on it

would change completely. There are multiple ways people can undergo this procedure, but they

all ultimately end the same way: with a life that used to be there being erased. The procedure of

an abortion takes an extremely short period of time, given the idea that it is taking away a life. Many people tend to think that it is their only option, when it is not. Though abortion is seen to

be the easy way out in many cases, it does not make it right. Abortion is also a very painful

experience, both mentally and physically, but it is something that can be avoided completely with

help from others.

There are many other options that people can do to keep their babies’ lives. Many people

consider having a baby and giving it up for adoption, which is a much better option. Taking on

another life to take care of on top of yours is a huge decision, but if pregnancy should occur

unexpectedly, giving the child life is always better than aborting them. I have a very close friend

who was adopted and is very thankful to her birth mother for giving her life instead of aborting

her because she knows all of the things she could have missed out on if her life had been taken

away. Also, there are many centers that are used to provide help to mothers who are struggling

and want to keep their child. They provide shelter, food, and necessities for the baby once they

are born.

In conclusion, abortion is a very delicate matter and something that no one should go

through because of what it's truly doing, why it's wrong, and also because there are many other

options. Life is God's greatest gift, something that He passed down to all of us so we can see the

true meaning of life, to live for him. So, don’t take away someone else's chance at fulfilling a life

for the Lord because they are unborn, for they are beautifully and wonderfully made in the image

of God.
