How the Catholic Faith Has Made an Impact on my Life

The Catholic Faith has affected my life in countless ways. Having Faith in God brightens
up my day. This year hasn’t been the greatest to me, but I know every obstacle on the
way to salvation is a good lesson learned. Speaking from an XC runner’s perspective, I
know after every bad practice, workout, or meet day to just realize it’s a learning
experience to improve upon your mistakes. Before every race, my team would have this
tradition of huddling up and praying. After every prayer, I felt more ready and confident
than before, knowing God was going to run this race with me. My entire team felt this way too.
The season before wasn’t the greatest, we were separated by emotions, not having a real
team bond, which ended with us not making the state meet as a team. This season was
different, our guys team was connected by two things, winning and most importantly…
God.
Our team soon became like a brotherhood, with everybody as dedicated and
devoted as ever, doing Bible studies and going to Adoration after school. The team
ended up winning a state championship, and at a Nike Regional meet a few weekends
later, the team didn’t let the fame get to them. The morning of the meet, we had a team
Mass, showing not only that we were dedicated but also devoted to the Catholic Faith.
You can connect this to everyday life, let’s say you have a bad day, it could be a life
lesson and you may not know it yet. One of my teammates loved to say no matter what
hardships the world brings, it’s all a part of God’s plan for your salvation.
