Spreading the Word with Cartoons

Every teen at one point has said or thought “why do I have to tell others about God when I could
be drawing or writing a story… or dancing to TikTok songs.” Like, I could just be on my phone
instead of going to church, right?
WRONG.
You could be telling people about the Mass using the one thing that brings people of all ages
together… comic strips.
If you're good at drawing and good at sharing on social media, you could collaborate and make
a funny comic strip that teaches young kids about the importance of Mass.
It's so easy to goof off. Everything at Mass is so serious now that you've grown out of children's
liturgy. You would much rather go home and read a book and trace the characters, because you
totally “did them yourself” than go to Mass. You really want people to like going to Mass,
including yourself, but everyone is so focused on their social media, and it just seems too hard
to encourage the whole world to go to Mass from your couch.
But what if you could?
Would you?
Is this how God wants you to share his word?
Keeping this in mind, you need to figure out how you are going to make this work.
You know you're a really good artist, and people love your funny drawings. So why wouldn't the
WORLD love your art?
Simply using the gifts that God so cleverly gave you, you put together a comic strip and take a
picture of it.
You are about to press the post button, but you rethink it all. Snapping out of it, you hit post and
it's out. Everyone can view it.
You are feeling good about your decision.
God is proud of you.
Simply posting one thing on social media can change everything, so be wise. Your optional
homework to anyone who has a social media, like Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok is
to post one thing that will have people of all ages stopping to look at it.
And that, my friends, is a simple way to spread the Word.
