What is a Vocation?
A vocation is a divine calling to live a Christian or Catholic life. It could also mean having a
religious life, like being a priest or joining the convent. It could be a married life or to be single.
It’s not just one thing, however, most of the time it connects to God. When you get Baptized, and
later Confirmed, you are almost completely connected to God.
What does it mean to take a vacation?
When you take a vacation, you are escaping something stressful or annoying. For example,
spring break is for students to take a break from schoolwork, which is both stressful and
annoying. You could be going to Florida, Alaska, or even France, but there is no way to escape
God. He is always there, and there is a strict no-return policy.
Should you try to take a vacation from God?
You could probably try, but it's not a good idea. Taking a vacation from God is disrespectful.
Quoting my Religion teacher, “God doesn't take a vacation from you, don't take one from Him.”
She is right. God will reappear if you hide Him away.

Thanks to Mrs. Cubba for getting that lovely quote engraved permanently into my brain. I will not
forget it. And thanks to you, dear reader, for stopping by and reading my article
